Currently in Chicago — November 21, 2023: Rainy then all clear for the holiday

The weather, currently.

Monday night will be wet and messy out there, gang. Fortunately, most of it won’t get here until after 8pm so the commute shouldn’t be too awful, but we could have up to an inch of total precipitation before it blows out of here by noon on Tuesday. If you can hold off on your travel for another day, it will be dry and sunny through Thanksgiving in the Chicagoland area, then dry and cloudy and cool over the holiday weekend… perfect for staying in and enjoying those leftovers. Lows tonight around 42, high near 49 on Tuesday, and gusts of wind up to 30mph through tomorrow night.

Currently’s new weather service is now live. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be continually adding more features and opening up more slots as we develop the service.

But for now, space is limited in the weather service because I want to make sure we can provide the highest quality service we possibly can while we work to refine the system with your input.

Our goal — as always — is to co-create the most personalized, most informative weather service that exists. And, above all, to make this service accessible, equitable, and resilient enough to bring safety and joy to the climate emergency.
