A sweet Solstice

Thursday marks the northern hemisphere’s Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. While this day carries significance in ancient religions (Stonehenge was all about the solstice), midsummer for most of us just means the sun has reached its highest point in the sky. It doesn’t affect our weather directly though… our heat wave continues, though we’ll only get up to about 80 on Thursday and could drop to the mid-60s Thursday night. The mercury will climb again for the weekend.

Even if you’re not a practicing pagan, you can celebrate the summer holiday with a free pint of ice cream from Kroger/Food4Less.
