Currently in Chicago — June 2, 2023

The weather, currently.

Takeaways for Chicago's weather:

1. Rather Warm End To Week

2. Cooling Off A Bit This Weekend

3. Little To No Chance Of Rain

Friday will feel just like July with a high near 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. We cool off slightly this weekend as highs hit the middle 80s Saturday and then lower 80s Sunday with mostly sunny skies both days. A mix Monday of clouds and sun and highs again in the lower 80s but temperatures sliding into the 70s later in the day. Back to about average Tuesday and Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the middle to upper 70s. Cooler lakeside every day.

What you need to know, currently.

A Tropical Depression has formed in the central Gulf of Mexico, and is expected to continue bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms to most of Florida over the coming few days.

Even though hurricane season just started on Thursday, this depression is the second cyclone of the season. A subtropical storm formed in the Atlantic Ocean in mid-January, but was only recognized months later after forecasters reexamined old weather maps. If this week’s cyclone, TD2, continues to strengthen, it would be given the name ‘Arlene’.
