The heat dome has worn out its welcome, but it can’t take a hint. Chicago will continue to broil through tomorrow’s Juneteenth festivities. If you’re celebrating outdoors, keep an eye on your favorite weather app for thunderstorm alerts; they can pop up quickly. The heat wave will persist with highs in the 90s through the weekend and into next week, with a breeze off the lake dropping shoreline temps by 10 to 15 degrees on Thursday and Friday.
