Currently in Chicago — June 13, 2024: The heat is on!

The weather, currently.

My neighborhood didn’t get cicadas, but if you go outside you’ll still be assaulted by a loud roar… of air conditioners. Yes, we are surfing a heat wave as temps climb to nearly 90 on Thursday.

Summer heat in Chicago is likely to bring a thunderstorm; right on cue, showers are likely tomorrow morning before the heat hits. After a brief respite of slightly cooler days on Fri-Sat, next week’s temps will hover at or above 90. Make sure you clean your AC filter, and clear debris from the outer condenser… it’s going to get a workout!
