Living on the shores of Lake Michigan is a real privilege, especially during times like the sunny week we have ahead of us. You can find dance parties and yoga classes, yarn bombs and paleta carts, and even the remains of religious rites along the Third Coast shoreline.

You have to respect a body of water this size, though, and the next few days will combine the kind of perfect beach weather that draws crowds with winds that can cause treacherous and deadly swimming conditions. Check the swim flags before diving in, and be safe out there!
